My 10 Favorite Beauty Products
Y'all know I do NOT cut corners on makeup, skincare, beauty products, etc. I am a sucker for Sephora and Ulta!! I have gone through my makeup collection and skincare cabinet and narrowed it down to my top 10 ride or die products. I did not buy all of these in one day. Some of these are pricey, I will warn you now. But you girls also know I would not share junk with you all. These products are amazing and worth every penny. Buckle up, these are phenomenal!
Fresh - Sugar Lip Treatment - I did not want to start this out with a lip treatment but girls, this is AMAZING. Those who know me personally know that this is always in my pocket. Even at work I always have my lightly tinted one on hand in the shade, Bloom (my personal favorite). This is perfectly tinted and has SPF 15. The other colors I have which I will list here in a second are much more tinted and appear more like a lipstick but are super moisturizing. They are well worth the cost. Sometimes they will have bundles at Sephora and that is how I have most of mine. I have the colors Bloom (of course), Petal, Candy, Tulip, and Coral.
Naked 2 - Urban Decay Eyeshadow Palette - This eyeshadow palette is amazing!! I purchased this in nursing school in 2012. I STILL USE THE SAME ONE. Yes, the same one from 2012. It is $54, but I have used it for seven years. So I think that is money well spent. It is the perfect balance of nudes and tans along with mattes and shimmers. They are pretty pigmented so you do not need a ton. It also comes with a nice double ended brush. I use the darker colors to create "smokey" eye looks and also for lower lash liner. I use eyeshadow for lower lash liner so it is not so harsh looking.
The Water Cream - Tatcha - My sister got me addicted to this brand a few years ago. I have always had to use oil free products related to very sensitive skin (we will save that for another post). But this brand intrigued me for so many reasons. Victoria Tsai and her story can be found here. This moisturizer is oil free and is a combination of Japanese botanicals, green tea, rice, and algae. A container of this and using it on average five nights a week lasted me 16 months. If you want to try it out, you can always visit Sephora and they will make you free samples to take home and try. I do that with most all of their products before I purchase them.
Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Setting Powder - FENTY BEAUTY by Rihanna - This is a product that I just started using about six weeks ago and I think I will continue to use it until I die. I am OBSESSED. I ordered it online and went back and forth about what shade to get. I got the lavender which is the lightest shade they have. Lately I have been loving the light under eye and this product really helps to enhance that. I am pretty fair skinned and I am lightest I have ever been. No more tanning for me. I only use this for brightening my under eyes after I put on concealer (sit tight, more on that in a minute). I apply this with a damp beauty blender. This just brightens your overall look so much. You can also try this in Sephora stores. If you click the above link or visit YouTube you can see how people apply it. I will be doing makeup tutorials in the near future.
Extended Play Gigablack Lash Mascara - MAC Cosmetics - I may be the pickiest person in the world when it comes to mascara. Surprisingly, I do not like anything too heavy in the realm of lashes. I like something buildable that I can wear for work and for dressier occasions. For work, I put on one very thin layer. When I hit the town (which is very rare), I put on two to three layers. This is my favorite mascara. It is not clumpy and it does come in waterproof, although I despise waterproof mascara. I use a night time lash serum that I may write a post on later for growing longer and thicker lashes.
Tarte Double Duty Beauty Shape Tape Contour Concealer - I have tried tons of concealers. Let me tell you, this is the holy grail of concealers. I have never had one that covers so well, that does not cake up under my eyes and stays put for 12+ hours a day. I have some pretty angry dark circles for only being 30 years old and this stuff takes care of them. I use the shade 12S Fair (for fair skin w/ yellow undertones). You can not purchase this at Sephora. It is available at Ulta (typically in store but always online). I put this on with the applicator it comes with and then I PAT it in with a damp beauty blender. Do not drag or brush it in to the skin. I will be doing a makeup tutorial down the road to show you girls how I apply it.
Air Blush Soft Glow Duo Marc Jacobs Beauty - Rosy cheeks are just so feminine and pretty. I love this little blush duo because you can do a lot with it. You can use the left side for a softer pink look or you can use the right side for that pink pop and really make your cheeks POP! This blush is super pigmented and a little bit goes a very long way. I use the shade 500 Lush & Libido - petal pink/orchid pink. It is beautiful.
Naked Skin Shapeshifter - Urban Decay - A contour palette that has it all has been very difficult to find. I will be honest, I do not use every color in this palette. But I do use the bronzer and highlighter in this palette, which makes it worth it to me. Sometimes just bronzer or highlighter alone can cost more than this entire palette. The thing that sold me on this one is that on the opposite side of this palette is five cream contour colors to play around with (that I have yet to try). Cream contouring intimidates me but I need to try it. I have the palette in Light Medium Shift shade.
Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Primer - FENTY BEAUTY by Rihanna - I never used primer on my face until about six months ago. Boy, does it make a difference. Of course I needed to find one that was oil free and this one is. It makes your entire face just look flawless and so crisp and finished. It makes your makeup just glide on so nicely and smooth. A big reason why I chose this one is because it is oil free but I am loving it ever since I started using it. I tried a sample at Sephora before purchasing. Tatcha also has a great one as well - The Silk Canvas Protective Primer.
Anastasia Beverly Hills - Matte Lipstick - Soft Pink - This has quickly become one of my favorite lipsticks over the past few months. It is the perfect color for spring/summertime. It is a beautiful blush/petal pink. It is very matte but sometimes I put a shimmery gloss over top. The gloss also adds some moisture because sometimes matte lipsticks can be drying and I can not stand when my lips are dry. I saw this on my all time favorite bloggers site.
Thanks so much for checking out my favorite beauty products!!!! Please let me know if you try any of them!! I would love to hear how you like them!
